Who checks these deals, and how

ToolFour is a free, independent list of deals on developer tools. None of the companies listed own or run it.

Who runs it

ToolFour is run independently by the ToolFour team.

How we check every deal

  1. On the company's own site. We confirm the amount, who can get it and any end date on the company's own page or terms, never from another deals site.
  2. By signing up ourselves. When we can, we make a new account or join the program, and check that the credit or discount really shows up. Screenshots on a deal show what we saw, with the date they were taken.
  3. A dated check on every deal. Each deal shows Verified with the date it was last checked and who checked it. A deal can also say how it was checked, for example "Signed up with a new account and saw the credit on the billing page".
  4. Regular re-checks. We go back to listed deals regularly and update them when they change. A deal with an end date comes off the site on that date, automatically.

Right now: 3 active deals, 3 of them checked in the last 30 days.

How visitors help

ToolFour is community-driven. People who use the deals help keep them honest:

  • Votes. Every deal asks "Is this deal working?". One click says whether it worked for you, and the deal shows how many people it worked for in the last 30 days.
  • Reports and tips. When someone says a deal stopped working, we check it again and fix it or take it down. You can also share a coupon or a better offer.
  • New deals. Anyone can submit a deal. We check it the same way before it goes live, and credit you on it as "Found by" if you'd like.

What money can't buy

  • Companies can't pay to be marked Verified, or to change what we write about them.
  • Deals that pay to be listed are marked Sponsored.
  • Every link goes to the company's own page, and we don't earn money from it. More about this

Spotted a mistake?

Use the buttons under the deal, or email contact [at] toolfour.com. We'll check it again and update the deal and its Verified date.
